Brown Water Advisory Big Island, Laupahoehoe Point through Leleiwe Beach Park
From Sun Feb, 03 2008 to Tue Feb, 12 2008. Expired 9 months ago.
Reason: Heavy Rains.
Island: Hawaii.
A Brown Water Advisory is being issued for the Big Island from Laupahoehoe Point through Leleiwe Beach Park due to very heavy storm water runoff, flooding, overflowing sewer manholes, cesspools, and a bypass of disinfected but not treated waste water from the Hilo (Puhi Bay) WWTP. Storm water runoff of this magnitude can also contain pesticides, animal fecal matter, dead animals, pathogens and associated flood debris. The public is advised to stay out of any coastal water that is turbid (brown) for the next several days.

Is this 12/3/08 spill being predicted? (Today is 4/21/08) Lots of info on this site appear to be outdated. Who's in charge here? Is someone asleep at the wheel?

No, just a typo on the year. It has been fixed. Thanks.
