Sewage Discharge: 1717 Ala Wai Boulevard

CWB has been notified of a sewage discharge to the Ala Wai Canal from a privately owned line at 1717 Ala Wai Boulevard, due to a cracked pipe. The spill was found on 1/26/2010 and reported on 1/27/2010. Discharge is estimated at 20 gal/hr and enters the Ala Wai via a storm drain. Repairs are currently underway to stop the flow as soon as possible. Although the spill is from a privately owned building, the City Environmental Services has graciously assisted in posting warning signs. Ala Wai Canal is not a recreational water, however the public is advised to stay out of the canal until the signs have been removed.
