Force Main Break Waipahu, OAHU
From Sun Jan, 17 2010 to Mon Jan, 25 2010. Expired 8 months ago.Reason: Broken Sewer Line.
Island: Oahu.
CWB has just been notified of a sewage force main break at the Ted Makalena Gold Course near the 14th hole. approximately 11,025 gals has been discharge into a drainage canal along the mauka boundary of the golf course near the 14th hole. The drainage canal empties into Middle Loch of Pearl Harbor. Warning signs have been posted by the City and water samples will be collected in the morning. Hawaiian Dredging and Construction will perform repairs to the force main tomorrow morning. Middle Loch of Pearl Harbor is not public recreational water however, the public and military are advised to stay of the waters of Middle Loch until warning signs have been taken down.

Sewage Spill Hawaii Kai, OAHU
Issued Thu Jan, 14 2010.Reason: Sewer Manhole Overflow.
Island: Oahu.
CWB was just notified by State Operator of a sewage discharge into Hawaii Kai Marina due to a clogged line near 307 Koko Isle Circle, Hawaii Kai. Workers from Hawaii-American Water Company are on the scene clearing the line and making any needed repairs. According to Bruce Bhang of Hawaii-American Water Co., the amount of sewage discharged into the marina is small. An estimate will be available later this morning. Warning signs will be posted and water samples will be collected by Hawaii-American Water Company. Hawaii Kai’s sewage system is privately run by Hawaii-American Water Company and Hawaii Kai Marina is a private marina.

Sewage Discharge into Honolulu Harbor
Issued Wed Jan, 13 2010.Reason: Broken Sewer Line.
Island: Oahu.
CWB was notified of 150 gals of flush water with residual sewage being discharged into Honolulu Harbor. The Coast Guard was pumping sewage from one of their vessels at Pier Foxtrot, Sand Island Coast Guard Base. Pumping of sewage into land base sewage line was completed and were in the process of flushing the pipe when the pipe cracked, releasing flush water with residual sewage into Honolulu Harbor. Commercial diving activities in the Honolulu Harbor should be held off for a day. Honolulu Harbor is not a recreational harbor.
